We meet at the playground Usseregg Walchwil or at
Reformed Kirchgemeindehaus, Waldeggweg 6318 Walchwil.

Qigong in the forest Wednesday morning from 9.30-10.30.

und gehen zu Fuss in den Wald 🌳🌿🍃

The harmonious balance of ‘the five elements’ is key components of a healthy life.
In Chinese philosophy, the Five Elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water are the five
basic aspects of Qi or life energy. These five elements are interconnected and interdependent.

Energy Channels: Stomach, Spleen

Season: All Seasons – Especially Late Summer

The Qi of the Earth element has no specific season because it is important and active through all of the seasons. Earth energy is especially prominent during the last seven to ten days of each month of each season and in late summer. The color of this element is yellow. All energy and all of the other elements have a great relationship with the earth element because the earth energy is grounding. Since earth energy is even more prominent in the last seven to ten days of each month this is an excellent time to focus on enhancing your stomach and spleen energy channels.


Energy Channels: Liver and Gallbladder

Season: Spring

The Qi of the Wood element is most prominent in the spring when plants are sprouting new growth. The color of this element is green. The energy channels most prominent in wood element energy are the liver and gallbladder. As the liver energy starts to flow more easily in the spring, helping to detoxify the body and helping to give us more energy and vitality. This is an important time to focus on the liver.


Energy Channels: Heart, Small Intestines, Pericardium, Triple Heater

Season: Summer

The Qi of the Fire element is most prominent in summer when the weather is hotter and the fire is heat. The color of this element is red.
The energy channels most prominent in the wood element are the heart,
small intestines, pericardium, and the triple heater. Heart energy is so critical to healing and health and joy in our lives it is important to always focus on
enhancing our heart energy and especially in the summertime.


Energy Channels: Kidneys, Bladder

Season: Winter

The Qi of the Water element is most prominent in winter when the cold creates a time for hibernation and plants go into their dormant cycle storing their energy for the spring to come. The color of this element is dark, dark blue, almost black. The kidney energy is the vitality of the body and focusing on enhancing the kidney energy during the winter season is so important for giving you more energy and vitality for the more active seasons ahead.


Energy Channels: Lung, Large Intestine

Season: Fall

The Qi of the Metal element is most prominent in the fall, which is the time of harvesting the abundance of summer. The color of this element is white. The energy channels most prominent in the metal element are the lungs and large intestines, as well as the skin and nose, which are parts of the breathing energy system. Since fall is a transition time from the heat and outdoor activity of summer to the cooler temperatures and more indoor activity it is especially important to focus on the lung energy to help prevent breathing problems, colds and the like that are associated with falls and the winter to come.

Like all forms of energy, all forms of Qi, the energy of the five elements are constantly in the process of transformation:

The energy of each element is more prominent or less prominent in seasonal and daily cycles. Each element is also more strongly connected with specific organs and energy channels in the body.

Qigong movement/exercises

Before starting your practice - allow yourself to feel a true inner smile, one that comes
from your heart or happiness and lets the smile spread to your body. Feel the love of your body,
the movements, the awareness, be curious, and enjoy ...


Find a comfortable sitting position or laying down. We begin by bringing our mind home
to our body, allowing it to settle as we relax.
From this place of quietude, we are feeling our lips with the softest expression of a smile,
inviting our whole body to tune to this feeling of inner silence, joy, and love.
We allow our consciousness to respond to the simplicity and power of this meditative
act. We are feeling our inner smile, and then we let our body’s intelligence guide us into
new states of wholeness.
The Inner smile’s purpose is to bring happiness, gratefulness to internal harmony and
balance in our mind, heart, and whole body.


Body position stands with feet a little more than shoulder-width apart and parallels to
each other – feel your entire foot. Bring your focus to your knees and bounce your body
up and down. While you are bouncing, relax your shoulders, neck, arms, hands, and torso
and keep your spine straight, but relaxed.
Good for grounding, relaxes the body and mind, moving mental focus down into the
feet’s and body, providing inner peace. Release stress.

I always do this exercise before practicing Qigong - I also do this movement with the
Walchwil church choir before we starting singing...
